This little bowl started out as an experiment. I'd watched a woodturner make a bowl with an inside rim, something I'd never tried before, and decided to give it a shot. I grabbed a chunk of wood from my scrap box, figuring I didn't have much to lose if things went wrong.
But as I started turning, some beautiful grain began showing itself, and suddenly I had a lot more invested in getting it right! I remember thinking, “Oh Lord, please don't let me mess this one up!”
Well, I managed to get that inside rim turned, and the grain turned out even better than I'd hoped. Not bad for a piece of scrap wood that turned out to be Allen American Elm!
Dimensions: 5¾" diameter × 2¾" H
Weight: 0.5 lb
