I turned this pepper mill from Stockdale White Oak and gave it a rich stain that brings out the natural grain of the wood. It's a good-sized mill with a solid feel to it, and I think the darker finish gives it a nice, old-fashioned look.
It has a steel grinding mechanism to take care of the pepper, and the wooden body makes it something you'll probably want to leave out on the table rather than put away in a cabinet.
