This little vase was turned from Grant Olive, a wood with some beautiful grain patterns. As I started turning, the grain led me toward a shape with a narrow waist and a flared opening. Those curves let the grain travel a little farther, showing off more of what was there.
At just 4¼ inches tall, it's a nice little piece for displaying on a shelf or table, either on its own or with a few dried flowers.
