West African Mansonia, is sometimes used as an alternative to Walnut because of its similar appearance. Like Walnut, it generally has fairly straight grain, but every now and then you find a piece that surprises you. This was one of those pieces!
The grain turned out to be much more interesting than I expected, and I think it works especially well with the pedestal shape.
It's a little bowl, just about right for nuts, candy, or other small treats. Or it can simply sit on a shelf and show off a little!
Dimensions: 4¼" diameter × 3½" H
Weight: 0.4 lb
