This charcuterie platter was handcrafted from reclaimed Longleaf Pine deck wood from the USS Texas, with Wenge accents arranged in a herringbone pattern. The attached bowl was also made from the historic deck wood. I glued up several smaller pieces, turned them into a bowl, and secured it to the platter with epoxy. It's just right for hummus, dips, jams, or jellies alongside meats and cheeses.
The original platter came with a signed Certificate of Authenticity from the Battleship Texas Foundation.
This particular platter is no longer available, and I can't reproduce it using USS Texas deck wood. However, I can make a similar platter with an attached wooden bowl using other woods. If you're interested in having one made, contact me and we can discuss the wood, size, and design.
